Why Foundations Matter

Types of Foundations We Install
Slab-on-grade foundations are common in Tulare's climate. The concrete is poured directly on prepared ground, combining the foundation and floor in one pour. This works well for single-story homes, garages, and many commercial buildings. It's cost-effective and performs well in our soil conditions when done correctly.
Raised foundations use footings below the frost line with stem walls that bring the foundation above grade. This creates a crawl space and works better on sloped lots or where you need elevation. We excavate trenches for the footings, pour them with proper reinforcement, then build stem walls on top before pouring the floor slab.

Our Foundation Installation Process
Foundation work requires precision. We start with accurate layout and excavation to the engineered depth. The bearing surface is compacted properly to prevent settlement. Forms are set level and secure, with accurate placement of anchor bolts, utility penetrations, and embedded items.
Reinforcement is critical for foundation performance. We place rebar according to engineering specifications, properly supported and tied to maintain position during the pour. For footings, this often means rebar cages that provide strength in multiple directions.
The concrete mix for foundations is specified for strength and durability. We coordinate delivery timing and have the crew ready to place, consolidate, and finish the concrete properly. Foundation work often requires inspections at various stages, which we schedule and coordinate with building officials.
